A mile long lake, a Victorian castle, walled gardens and a number of mountain bike trails, Castlewellan has a lot to offer.
Castlewellan Forest Park is a 450 hectare park just 5 miles from Newcastle offering a wide range of activities on offer.
First planted in 2000 this hedge mazed has grown to just under six feet high. The pathways total over two miles, covering almost three acres (previously a world record) which makes finding your way to the exit in the centre both a challenging and rewarding experience.
The park has a variety of trails available for those of all skill levels. Whether it is gentle peddle around the lake or testing yourself on one of the more challenging routes Castlewellan is a great day out for those who enjoy life on two wheels.
Bike hire is available in the park from the Life Adventure Centre at the head of the trails.
