Host of the 2015 Irish Open with breath taking views of Dundrum bay and the Mountains of Mourne

The Royal County Down Golf club features two 18 hole links courses overlooking Dundrum Bay and with breathtaking views of Slieve Donard and the mountains of Mourne. First opened in 1886 it has hosted a number of high profile tournaments and in May 2015 it will host the Irish Open for the first time in 76 years.

The American publication Golf Digest ranked the course first in its 2007 "100 Best Golf Courses Outside the United States", and world number one Rory McIlroy has previously stated the course is his favourite.

The fourth and ninth holes have won individual acclaim too featuring in the book "The 500 World's Greatest Golf Holes", the ninth hole is also known as being one of photographed in the world.

Just a couple of hundred yards from the entrance to the club our property is the perfect base for a golfing break.
